MP Since - 1997 Majority - 4,411 Born - 26/11/1948, Married (Alan Keen MP) (2 sons, 1 daughter)

Education - Elfed Secondary School, Clwyd, Surrey University.

Previous Occupation - Community Nursing, Former Head of Faculty of Advanced Nursing, Queen Charlotte's College, Hammersmith Hospital (1992), General Secretary, Community and District Nursing Association (1994).

Personal Overview - Winning the seat at her third attempt, she comes from a family currently involved in Labour politics, with a public sector background. Her political journey started with a strong association to Glenys and Neil Kinnock, she followed a similar path towards the middle ground from the left of the Labour Party. She gained an early Select Committee membership and was subsequently made a PPS. Ardent campaigner for homosexual rights after rediscovering her son, whom she had given for adoption, was gay.

Political History - Parliamentary Candidate, Brentford & Isleworth (1987 & 1992), Member for Brentford & Isleworth (1997-). Member of the Health Select Committee (1997-99). PPS to Frank Dobson MP as Secretary of State for the Department of Health (1999) & Financial Secretary to the Treasury (2000-01). PPS to Rt. Hon Gordon Brown as Chancellor of the Exchequer, (2001-07). Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department of Health (for Health Services) (2007-).
